So I get to bring it back down to earth.... Looks cool this way, but not very practical...

I agree, it's an awsome truck. The owner can't fit it in his garage and it's not very easy to climb in and out of. Not very nice to drive with these tires either. 50mph max, and the tires start shaking violently... WES

what type of lift is on it now? I was looking at a similar truck with a ridiculous lift that was a re-spring only (a k10) - and it was gonna cost me an arm and a leg to get new stock springs for it. That's sure a nice truck. I'm guessing he's actually getting much more that 50 mph, but that's all his speedo is showing him

I believe it is a 6" lift. What it looks like was done is 4" spring lift with 2" rear blocks. It shows 40 on the speedometer

That's how I've run my trucks for years. I keep trying to mature and keep one more stock-ish height (2" lift),but not yet. I'm about to do the opposite and lift my '72 6" and run 12.50/37-16.5 Super Swampers. Those are mounted on the 8.25 steelies like your customer wants. I also have 12.50/35 BFG A/Ts on 9.75 aluminum slots. So far,I can still hop in and out as easily as ever. The hold-up now is I want to rebuild the engine and it sure is easier on a truck with no lift. I've had good luck with 35-37" tires running smooth on the hiway,if they're well balanced. Once they get out of whack,forget it

That sure is a fine example as is. But,stock will be just as cool. Someone else can carry that look on when they buy his wheels/tires/lift.

I only want to go up 2-4 inches but if the price is right. If you could take pics before you take it out, we'll go from there.

Wes, basically the way it's set up and the front and rear springs, reason being, I still carry a cabover camper on mine now and then. I just want to make sure it has big enough spring packs to maintain custom camper weight specs. Geez, I hope I made sense that kinda hurt my brain!

Use air bags in the rear and have the best of both worlds...if you find you need them
