Back-up Cam Reverse Light location? 1999 C-1500 Suburban

Guys I am installing a non-factory stereo deck in my 1999 C-1500 Suburban. I cant seam to locate the reverse light wire to tap into so the camera comes on when I put the car in reverse. I think it's white and I know it's under the dash of course.

I have a test light and can find the brake light no problem, but not the reverse.

Thanks a million guys.
Eric

99-02's don't have an in-cab reverse, from what all I heard. Your best bet it to put a fuse tapper in the reverse circuit in the underhood fuse box, and run the wire in with the cam wire.

I searched and searched and could not turn up any info, nor did I find any wires on the BCM that activated when in Reverse.

Ok. Thanks. WOW appreciate the fast response. Now...what about the DVD player that needs to see the parking brake negative wire? Do you know were that is located?

Thanks again!

if you want to be able to watch dvd's while driving you can just ground that wire then your dvd player will work ALL the time not just while parked... thats what i did on mine anyway i know its not exactly the safest thing to do but honestly i rarely watch movies in my truck anyway

Kenbob is incorrect. That was true with old in dash players but not newer ones. Even if you don't care to watch movies while driving, I would still order the bypass simply because it's incredibly easier. Just go to Amazon and type in "[radio model] parking brake bypass". They're about $10, very small, and tuck in behind the radio. That way you have the option of passengers watching movies while you're travelling, or, if you prefer, not.

Otherwise, if you stick your head down in the driver's floorboard, you should easily see the little switch that activates the light. It has two wires coming off of it; I believe you want the Positive side. It's pretty easy if you don't have a trailer box down there (secondary fuse box shoved right up against the parking brake pedal), but if you do, like me, it's a decent job. Radio's these days want a double pulse, from Positive, to short, to Positive, to short. That's why it says to pump the pedal twice and then leave it down. The "bypass" module emulates that sequence a couple seconds after starting the truck.
