Does removing leafs raise the rear if a flip kit is installed?
I installed a flip kit in the rear of my truck and a 3" drop spindle on the front of my truck and the flip kit has made the rear a bit too low. The truck sits about 2 inches lower in the rear than it does in the front. I know that removing leafs when the leafs are on top of the axle will lower the truck, so will removing a leaf when they are below the axle raise the truck a little?

It's still going to lower the truck taking out leafs weather or not they are on the top or the bottom of the axle.

You could install a lift shackled in the rear for an inch or so

2" Ground Force springs up front from Summit should level it out. But to answer your question, no. Decreasing rear spring arch will lower the rear whether the spring pack is mounted above the axle or below it.

Re: Does removing leafs raise the rear if a flip kit is installed?
I will probably go with springs up front cause I kind of like how low the back sits.. I just hope I don't run into clearance issues up front with 2 more inches of drop with the 15x8 rims.

Re: Does removing leafs raise the rear if a flip kit is installed?
You could purchase a set of 1" drop coil springs and take the front down a little lower. That way you still have the original length coils, if you change your mind. I put a set on my 84 and actually had to put a1/2" spacer under the spring to get the stance where I wanted it. My truck now has a set of Belltech 3" drop spindles and a 1" shorter set of springs, along with a pair of 1/2" spacers for my front. There is still plenty of clearance and it has been that way for many years. If the rear is still too low, you could get the springs rearched at a spring shop to get a lift to where you want it. The price to do so, is not that bad.

Re: Does removing leafs raise the rear if a flip kit is installed?
Prob gonna try to cut a coil off the spring. Is the ride quality better if you buy an aftermarket drop coil rather than cutting a coil off? Or would it be around the same?

Re: Does removing leafs raise the rear if a flip kit is installed?
I was thinking more like something that goes under the spring ..I wouldnt put one of those in my springs.
Old timer at the front end shop I use says that they use to use pieces of old tires under the spring. |

Re: Does removing leafs raise the rear if a flip kit is installed?
Did you remove any leaves before the flip kit? If so the rear is sagging, and adding leaves back would bring it up. Does the lowering shackle have more than one set of holes? Raise it up a notch if they do.
If you want it lower in the front, a single cut coil will probably get you there. The back space of your wheels will determine if you will have clearance issues or not. From what I can see in your pics, there is going to be problems.

As far as the clearance issues on the front go, I've already had quite a few issues. When putting the wheels on my wheels were hitting on the spindle itself, right above where the brake caliper mounts. I wish I had gotten some pics of it... After putting the spindles on I did not have any issues with the wheels hitting the lower control arms. There wasn't much room, but there was a little. Will cutting a coil bring my wheels closer to the control arm?
