Re: "BETSY" - 1964 C-10 Longbed / Step Side

So second weekend of tear down and I've found some rust. This was defintely someones previous project. THey skipped a few steps when it came to prep, so ive got more body work to learn how to do. Looks like fender patch panels will be needed.. Question to the group, if the rust is minor, is there any other way to repair other than cut and and replace?

Went to the swap meet Saturday morning at Atl Dragway and came away with some nice trim pieces for final assembly.

One other question, Any ideas how to remove a VERY rusted lower fender bolt? Ive got everything else out, but the big one on the lower section on both sides is seized up pretty bad.. If i ziz wheel it off, is a replacement hard to find?

Re: "BETSY" - 1964 C-10 Longbed / Step Side

On the rusted bolt I use PB Blaster, shoot it and use a screw driver to pick out as much dirt as possible.
Re-shoot 2-3 times a day til it gives.
Unless my patients wear thin then I use a propane torch to heat it up.
Then it either gives or snaps off.
I6 vs v8 depends on what your wanting to do.
Personally I prefer v8's but thats just me. I may end up using an I6 on Bompenstein.
On patch panel.
Page 5 on my build I'm working with patch panel and home made patch panel pieces.

Here are some builds that may interest you.
