what motor for 66 gmc - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

This truck has the 250 with a 4 speed. I am wanting to go with an auto. But, my big guestion is this, would you keep the inline or go with something else. I have a 500 Cadillac motor on the stand needing rebuilt. I am just wondering what everybody else would do in my situation. The 250 turns free, but I was told when I got the truck that it hadn't been started in about 7 years. Thanks
