anyone have any expericane with 24s up front

i need to get some basic ideas for fitments on front 24s..... thinking 24x9 with 5.0-5.75 back space and a 255/30/24 or 24x8.5 with the same backspace and tire size...rears are 24x15s. porterbuilt complete front and body drop. thinking i may need mmw arms to make it work but dont want lynn at intro to cut them wrong..any help or direction is appreciated.

How is the track width on the PB front end compared to stock? I assume that your going to be trimming the front fenders quite a bit and losing the stock hood hinges?

8.5 wheels need at leat a 5.25" BS.
That means your 9's need at least a 5.75"BS.
They may need more.
24's are going to need a rubberband tire to air out.

Most do a 22/24 combo to help keep the tires off the hood.

20's fill these wheel wells alot, I cant imagine 24's on one without really cutting up alot of metal....especially with 24x15's on rear.....That is a majorly wide wheel.

I have a set of 24's on mine and yeah it's a lot of cutting and the stock hinges have to go but I'll tell you what, big rims look pretty good on these trucks if your into that look of course.

Any updated info on this, the front is pretty narrow with cpp modular spindles, wilwood brakes and narrowed MMW arms along with dropmember. ive been told from 5" to 5.5 but I need to clear a sway bar, firewall and fender too..

I plan on running 22's with average tires (not rubber band).
Builds in fabrication mode.

I also believe Porterbuilt drop member narrows your track width atleast an inch each side... And just run their firewall hood hinges..

You are going to have to get out a tape measure and a straight edge.
Get them TOO NARROW and it will look silly.

It's all about total tire height,... to get it to lay out.
Backspace gets it clearing the fenders.

You can mount up any bare wheel with a "known backspace" and measure off of them also.

Dropmember + CPP modular spindles + .750" narrower (per side!) a-arms equals a really narrow front end.
Bolt it all together, install a fender,... and measure.
