5 inches of drop in the front with 15x8 and inner fender wells?

I have 3 inch drop spindles up front and am gonig to chop a coil up front for another 2 inches hopefully. I am running 15x8s. With 5 inches of drop up front is it usually necessary to remove the inner fenders or anything?

I figured it would, thanks guys. Going to either pull the inner fenders out or just raise the back up and not lower the front anymore.

I'm guessing your tires are significantly shorter than his. Yours look like 295/50-15 from the picture. Is that right ?

That explains it then. Your tires are two inches shorter than his are (27.05 vs 29.05)

Sounds like the op will be in the market for lower profile tires pretty soon.

I have 30" tires with 3" spindles and 1.5" coils..and I'm not even close to the wheel wells...I guess you probably get more drop cutting older coils..

Gonna cut a coil on the front and see if I need shorter tires... If I do I'll get some. Mine need to be replaced soon anyways. What tire do you all recommend? And how wide of tire can I put on the back for a 15x8 wheel? I have read 275 is the widest for a 8 inch wheel... Is this true, or is that still too wide?

275/60r15 is perfect for 8" rear wheels. 245/60R15 would be ideal for the front. A 295/50R15 will fit a 8" wheel too but is a little too wide.

What they said. I ran 255/60s on stock ralleys back when my pickup was that high.

The 295/50/15 on an 8" wheel doesn't look good to me. I run 275/50/15's on my truck all around with factory 8's. But they are old now and dry.

Ever considered cutting half a coil and seeing just how close you are to rubbing? Just an idea to get you by until you get shorter tires.
