Red face 72 SB 4x4

My son and I are in the process of rebuilding (ground up) a 72 4x4 pu. We have a rolling frame, now working on the cab. cab has moderate amount of rust, floor corners, front and rear cab braces (ends only), cab pillars, both front and rear (bottoms of both) and of course both inner and outer rocker panels. My question is, without the existing metal to get good measurements from how does one calculate just exactly where everything should go? I understand the outer rocker and fitting to cab, door, etc. Don't have any good experience with this year model truck. First time post. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 72 SB 4x4

I recommend screwing the sheetmetal together and then setting the doors on to get a good gap...also...make sure to put fenders on to get a flush line all the way across. Trevor

Re: 72 SB 4x4

Thanks for your reply. I'm new to this so i will get pictures as soon as i can. Being from Kansas / Oklahoma do you know of any good parts / junk yards that may have a few parts? Tilt, buckets seats, console. Thanks again.

Re: 72 SB 4x4

Yeah, not many yards around here with tachs, tilts, or buckets. Vans are your best bet for a similar tilt column. Best bet is to search the parts board here. I bought a lot of hard to find parts from our members.
