Taxes paid... time to spend some money!

So like most other people on this board I was anxiously waiting to determine how bad the damage (or good the return) would be for taxes before they are ‘allowed’ to buy goodies for their pickups. As it turns out we owe a lot less than we originally estimated at the end of the year!! So not only do I get to buy all the PB stuff I wanted, but I may even be able to afford a couple extra items.
I am outlining my plan here hoping that some of the big guns will provide some additional direction or wisdom. Generally I want something lowered, level, but not laying frame. I really like the stance of big_al’s pickup and JWall’s pickup for ride height, but want my pickup to sit level. I will be adding an air management system down the road but am going to wait on that until I’m close to being finished, I don’t want something new and improved to come out in the time it takes to complete the build.

Front mild DM – In talking with Dave it sounds like I might be able to get away with non-drop spindles, also I’m leaning towards weld-in unit, thoughts?

Rear mild DM – weld-in

Wheels – Raceline Jaded Six. Can’t decide on 20’s vs. 22’s. I know a lot of guys go with staggered but I’m not sure if I want to do that, I do want to fill the wheel well as much as possible. Also, I don’t want the fronts tucked in too much. Based on a post by lolife99 a 20x8.5 with 5.75” BS might work, but this suggestion was for a non-DM truck. I plan on measuring my pickup once I get everything installed and will probably make a handy tool similar to what lolife did, but am hoping for any lessons learned or actual experience from anyone willing to share. Also, not sure If I will need new inner fenders or if I can keep the stock. I like Mike’s Slosh tubz but would probably go with Hills Rod and Custom inner fenders for the stock look.

I’ve posted a couple pics below just so you guys can see what I’m working with. Not sure if I will start a build thread just yet because I suspect it’s going to take a couple years… enjoy the pics and please, any input on what I’m thinking is welcome.

The list looks good to me!

Post up some pics of some "example trucks" that show the ride height you are looking to achieve. That way we can make sure you get the correct parts recommendations.

Also.... stick with the bolt-in front set-up. It's the best option for the C10.

Sounds great! If it were me, I would not buy the wheels yet. If your build is a couple years out, those wheels may not be what you want then.

I agree with the others, wait on the wheels. Get it sitting, rolling and stoping where you want it and then pick wheels (or get those) then.

Yeah get your wheels and tires first so you know for sure what you got to work with no guessing.

Everyone else said to wait on the tires and wheels... is that what you meant?

Thanks all for your thoughts and advice, it's much appreciated. I think I will wait on the tires and wheels. So what do you guys think about this (to give me plenty to work on):

1. Buy 700R4 tranny to aid in mock-up. It's got the 350 that came with it, so I was just going to use that for mock up until I buy the 383 when ready.

2. Buy brakes to allow mock up of brakelines.

Nate - see pics of big_Al's pickup below for approximate ride height (one is at his ride height and the other is at his aired out). So something around these but level. I've spoke with you and Dave once or twice but will be giving you a call in a week or so to finalize and order
