Another one joins the alumni club !!!!!!!!!

Minutes after getting on the freeway I lost power, saw some smoke, pulled over to the side of the freeway and saw more smoke and bailed ..... w/in 3 minutes it was ingulfed in flames.

Single piece side windows
Power windows
Grant steering wheel

305 / 700r4 single shaft drive-line w/ 3.08
Early Classic 4/6 drop

Now, waiting for State Farm to settle on price of truck.

From looking at engine compartment, there's no fire damage on driver side .. ONLY on passenger side --- probably broken / loose fuel line. Flames came through firewall into cab.

kidding me???? The man is alive aand about to get some insurance money. I'D say he is damn lucky (and watched out for!)

just think of it as a way to make the truck the "other"way you wanted. instead of the black interior you may have decided on, you can now try the other option. Personally I think I would rebuild the truck witha flame scheme that carries into the interior.

Yowsers!!!! Sure am glad to see you're fine out of the ordeal. Is it right to assume that you'd installed the fuel tank back under the bed? That would have been instant explosion if it were still behind the seat!!!! Makes my stomach turn to think about what may have happened. Cripes.

THANKS --- glad nothing really happened.

Truck is salvagable -- it only needs donor cab, since heat warped the roof. In regards to gas tank -- it was in the cab and 95% empty, don't know why it didn't explode -- but glad it didn't.

I like to flame theme -- but don't know if I'm going to rebuild it, since I don't have room for another project at my home. Probably get myself a 67 SWB Fleet and bring over the suspension, rear end and wheels. We'll see .... got finish by 71 Suburban first.
