Who sells the best fitting carpet for our trucks?

I had wanted rubber flooring, and ordered one from LMC because that particular one covered all the way to the gas tank instead of leaving under the seat open.

Turns out it doesn't fit anywhere close. It looks like hell.

So, I am thinking I may just suck it up and go with carpet.

Who sells the best one? I see several from the usual places, and they all seem to be around $150. Are those decent?

I wonder if the rubber is just shrunken up, because its cold this time of year? You may need to set in the hot sun when it warms up, or maybe carefully put it in the dryer in low with a towel and keep a close eye on it

I purchased that "Heavy Duty" mat for my 82 C10 from LMC and was very disappointed with the fit initially, but after working with it for a while, it is surprisingly well fitted but is cut a little large. I started with the indentions for the seat mounts and bolted a large washer there to hold the mat in place and then worked out from there. Go slow about making cuts. I left the sill moldings off for several days as the mat "grew" as the sun and heat of the day smoothed out some wrinkles. I used a heat gun initially in some areas, but be careful as it will really soften the mat. Chip.

I installed a carpet in a 99 Suburban and it took at least 5 hours of trimming, yelling, and more trimming, plus all of the time to remove and reinstall all of the seats, belts, etc. Add a couple of bloody nuckles from trying to streach/mold everything into place. I can say that a "hot" carpet (Vegas summer time 100+) is easier to work with and make sure you use very sharp blades to trim everything.

As stated above, find the major molded area and work out from there. Maybe install a seat bold with a large washer to lock an area down and then move forward. But the little cab area in these trucks will be much easier to work with that a SUV.

Mine was a "el cheapo" and as I worked on it I promised my self that I would buy a factory carpet if I ever attempted another carpet job. But in the end it cost about 1/3 of the factory piece and now that everythin is installed and "settled" it looks great.

I used a heat gun to heat it up and get the wrinkles out. The problem is the area around the gas pedal doesn't even come close and the fit on the hump is like its for a high hump. Way too much material.

I already cut this one, so it's junk now either way.

You can go directly to ACC's website, but I believe there are several board vendors and some major suppliers that resell ACC products.

Check with you local upholstery shop. They may be a dealer and have the all the sample colors on hand to choose from. You would be amazed at how many shades of a color they have. Also, with the carpet code you can order extra bulk carpet direct from ACC.

I got my carpet from LMC & it is JUNK. It is all wrinkled around the heel pad. There is no heat in the world that would get it right. I have health problems & would have a hard time doing it over. Some of their parts are not even driver quality. They try to give you flex radiator hoses. I am close to them so it was convenent, but I will not buy anything for my Chevys from them.

I've read that trimparts.com has good carpetas well, but I'm not to that point in my build yet, so I can't comfirm that.

^^ Trim Parts and Auto Custom Caroets are in the same league IMO. I have used both.

I just installed trim parts carpet. The company said it would cover the old gas tank location. It covers about half of that location, not all the way to the rear cab wall. Still fits nicely. It still needs some trimming (behind the door jambs where the extended portion of the carpet is, and for the headlight dimmer switch on the floor) but otherwise it seems like it's good quality.

Do you still have the box it came in? Mine was packed in a ACC box, which I assumed was a old carpet box. I didn't check for any numbers on the box. I didn't find out until much later that ACC makes the HD rubber mats also. I guess what I'm trying to say is, see if you can make sure the one you have is not ACC. Chip.

Mine was just in an LMC box.

I had to cut around the gas pedal area to even be able to install the pedal, and it still took a lot of heat to get it to lay down at all. The whole thing just sucks.

I bought the 80/20 loop with the massback insulation, shipped to my door was less than $150. I searched online for a %off coupon from RockAuto. ACC the company wanted nearly 230 for the same set! I was also able to choose the color I wanted, which wasn't a factory color, but went with the charcoal gray carpet.

...i made my own before i started the restore. Home depot had a roll of looked like Exactly charchole grey car carpet, measured, measured, cut, fit, trim, and used tape and marked with sharpie on backside, epoxied, let dry and baaam, it looked great but i did spend tooooo much time on it.

I just bought carpet from Sumitt. I believe its made by Lund. It fit really well with not cutting. It is a one piece and fit to the front of the gas tank.

I bought a carpet kit from LMC in the past. I didn't have too many issues getting mine to fit, but it has become sun damaged since I installed it a few years back (black carpet). I would have expected that it would resist the sun a little better, especially being in western WA.
