Under Bed Fuel Tank

Has anyone purchased and installed this tank? Let me know what you thought or of any others that might be better. Thanks

Re: Under Bed Fuel Tank

have installed a CPP tank which is the same the only thing is bolting the tank up to the frame rails, you have to make the holes in the frame and tank a little bigger for some wiggle room to get the three bolts started on each side and may have to use bigger washers on the bolts
hope this helps i think it is a very good tank

Re: Under Bed Fuel Tank

I'm in the middle of installing that exact tank. It seems like very good quality construction. You do have to drill holes into the frame to attach it, but the brakcets come with the kit, so it's pretty easy to locate the holes. I just put the tank up against the frame with a jack and held it in place with c-clamps, used the bracket to locate the holes.

The hardest part is the fuel filler location, depending on what you plan on doing with it. Check out page 2 of my build thread. I've posted one pic of my bed floor surgery to get the filler to sit flush in the bed. It's not complete yet, but I hope to have the patch completed this weekend. With any luck, I will have the tank mounted as well.

If you get that kit, you'll still need to get a vent valve for the top of the tank, or a fitting and a piece of hose to locate above the top of the tank so fuel doen't spill out when it's full.
