They lost my parts... (UPS)
So I ordered an exhaust system for my 1972 chevy truck from Summit. It is a thrush system. It was supposed to be delivered on Feb 22nd... Well not here and they do not know where it is... I just finished a 2 year engine rebuild and needed the exhaust to fire and break in the engine.
I paid $280 for parts and $110 shipping. What is a reasonable expectation for me to have? Should they replace the parts and delivery? Should I be entitled to more? Time is money and in all honesty, I am really bummed since the truck was my grandfathers and I have been working for 2 years to get it running... Best case is we reorder and get it here, but it was 2 weeks delivery the first time... PS. The parts were tracked to the local distribution center then lost. I have called ups twice and get the run around. They say things contrary to the computer etc. I paid the higher shipping because the 44 pound package had to be shipped Freight. I am going to get on the phone with Summit and UPS tomorrow... Just not sure what to do, never had an issue in the past despite being an eBay addict.

They should replace them with free shipping. But first they will try and locate your missing headers. Be patient and best of luck.

Summit is really good with Customer Satisfaction. I would call them back and "ask" not demand that they reimburse you the shipping cost since they failed to get the parts to you on time. They will do this, and still honor the order. Just be nice, I know from experience, a little finesse with some of these companies will get you along ways.

If there's '5 day' shipping or something like that, I'd expect a refund on the $110. I would think that 13 days past estimated delivery date is enough time for them to issue replacements. That's just my opinion.

You shouldn't be "entitled" to more of anything. If you have an issue why not call Summit? If they aren't willing to work with you then contact your credit card company and have them take care of the rest.

It sounds to me that Summit didnt screw anyone, looks like the shipping company did. I would call Summit, they will make it right, you could ask to have it shipped a different way and probably expedited shipping but dont get greedy, this is one of the perils of buying on line. Good luck!

Re: They lost my parts... (UPS)
UPS bought "overnite freight" and are still using overnite drivers and they are well ????
I have to deal with them on a regular occasion. Like was posted before go to summit and let them deal with their shipper, I'm betting this is not the first time on this type of thing happening. Summit has always been good on getting things right. Good luck.

UPS sucks. This sort of thing always happens with those clowns. FedEx is a lot better.
