Re: Pictures of swb stepsides with rallys

Forgot to mention, both trucks were lowered 4.5 front 6 rear with Early Classic Enterprises parts. Front wheels are 7s and rear are 8s. Front tires 245/60-15 and rears 275/60-15.

It's the exact same combo I've used on about half a dozen trucks in the last ten years. Simple and it works.

Re: Pictures of swb stepsides with rallys

The first picture is of my '67 with 8" 6 lug rallys.

The second picture is of the '67 with 8" in the front and 10" rallys in the rear. I think the front has a 2" drop and the rear a 4" drop.

I tend to like rallys.

Is that first one stock? That seems crazy tall. I'm about to move to rallys from 20s. I hope that's not my end result.

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

The first one was stock with a 250 with 3/4 ton springs off of a lwb stepper.

When we did the build we put the suspension off of a half ton '71 on the swb frame and a 454 in the place of the 250. We cut one coil out of the front half ton springs and 4 inch drop springs on the rear.

I drove the truck today for a while and think I may have to drop the back a little more.

Beautiful truck! I've saved your pics as reference as I build my BB '68 stepper, what are the tire sizes? Is it still a 3/5 drop?

Thanks, tires are 215/70's on 15x7's on the front and 275/60's on 15x8's out back. The drop is 2-1/2 drop spindles with 1/2 a coil cut off of new 3/4 ton springs in front and 5" drop springs with shock relocators and adj track bar.
