window switches
I just finished installing my Specialty power window kit & it fits great.
Now I need ideas for switches to mount in the face of the door. There is only about 1" from the sheetmetal to the glass. Any ideas ? What switches have others used. |

In an under dash panel , Door panel arm rest or center console? I have seen them mounted all over the place

Ok, maybe I wasn't clear. I want to mount the switches in the door, but there is about 1" clearance between the face of the door & the glass.
Newfisher - your photos look like your switches are in the door. What did you use ?? |

Have you seen the power window switches that use the stock window handles? You just press slightly up or down to raise/lower the window.

The switches that use the original window handle are a great idea. But I'm removing the stock door handles & replacing them with late model pull type handles so the original window handle idea wont match.

I think if you look at factory GM power window switches they don't take up a lot of space and remember you have to add in the thickness of the door panel. You could also put them in arm rests or maybe in a raised box that was just high enough for clearance.
You might even get away from GM and use the arm rests and window switches from another brand.

Factory gm switches have the connections on the back, so that inter fears with the glass.

Use the switches that use the factory or aftermarket handles. They make them for many years and makes. Check them out at http://www.autoloc.com
