5spd trans.

im going to be putting a 350 in my 66 and well my 3spd is also being pulled im want to know what year 5 spd trannys will fit out of trucks .im trying to stay mechanical. also in doing the motor swap from the I6 to V8 motor mount to frame is it the same or im i going to having to modify that area .i geuss what im asking can i just drop a v8 straight in with v8 mounts.please help.

The 230/250 I6 and the V8 had the motor mounts in the same location. If you have the 292, you will need a different passenger side bracket. The motor mounts themselves are the same for either engine.

For a 5 speed that meets your requirement, a T5 would work. But that depends on how you intend to use your truck. Another option would be the NP-A833/NP440 trans. But those are more difficult to find.

well capt. i plan to drive her as a daily driver and haul stuff . thats why im looking in to the world of motor and tranny swapping .as i thnought my wording sucks what im asking is am i going to have to fab an adaptor plate if im going to swap motor as well. and the tech talk on the T5 swap lost me im chevy stupid .why would you use a tranny out of a s10???im looking more along the lines of a full size truck from the late 70s early 80s.
