1/2ton dually conversion... custom
I was pondering the idea of converting my fleetside into a dually.... only changing the bed and rear wheels (to a 15X14 with wide tires)... keeping it a 1/2 ton... has anyone seen this? or tryed?
Really dig the lowered duallys, and I thought this would be a cheaper way of doing it.

Google images.
Phantom Dually. It's exactly what you are talking about. 1/2-ton suspension. 15x14 rear wheels with 31x18.50 or 33x21.50 Mickey Thompson rear tires

It won't be redneck. It'll be old school. Phantom duallys were a HUGE thing in the late '80s to the mid '90s, then they just kind of died out.

Hell I still think its cool! Lol, almost traded my stocks to an old man that had the wide 8 lug center lines and just wanted stock, but my wife didn't think a diesel would cool that style..

About half way down the page. 525.00 for the pair. ![]() This one is getting the phantom dually treatment when the 4.3 dies and I do a LS/6spd swap. I've had the fenders for it since 96. LOL |
