Porterbuilt arms
Went to install with out shims and the upper cross bar is hitting the high spot on the factory front cross member. Looking at each side I need around 1/2" of shims to clear the member and I am also trimming the edges of the member so the arms don't rub it. Kind of needing advise on this.

Are you sure it won't clear once you put the shims back in?
