ok well here is a update although does not seem like this thread is getting attention but anyways i went with 275/60 R15s on the rims but once the tires were put on and time to put the wheel the lug holes on the rims did not match with my my pattern rookie mistake of not checking the dimensions soooo they are for sale 250$...good news is that i found this deal on craigslist for 150$ well i talked him down from 200 to 150$ it is a bench seat with white crocodile leather also i sold two motorcycles for 1,000$ ay suggestion what to do with the money? truck needs work on everything basically

That seat isn't something you see everyday! If i were you, I'd tune everything up, from the engine to the suspension and make it real reliable. Then I'd lower it!

well doesn't seem like my build is getting much love prob because of the huge pictures and VERY low budget build but anyways picked up 20x9.5 wiht tires for 400$! there american racing daytonas guy has had the tires and rims for one week showed the recete! heres some pics

ran into a fitment problem tires were too wide! used up all my money so i became to cheep to buy spacers for 7.99 at my performance shop so solution? beat the crap out of the inner fender until it clears a good finger and a half! the rim is 9.5 wide and my tires is 315/40 for a estimate of how much i beat it, i now have about .65 inches of clearance

well heres a major update...
i was on the way to killswitch car/truck show and my transmission pretty much blew up on me on 45 on league city. My truck is now all beat up from the area were the trans ent out so i sat waiting for a wrecker for over 4 hours with no a/c! in the texas heat...any suggestions on what trans to get now? i want to be able to haul ass without having to worry too much about my trans..

Good lookin truck! The turbo 400 is a strong replacement transmission for these trucks, with the turbo 350 being the next strongest. Problem is they don't have overdrive. You probably had the 700R trans which is the weakest but has overdrive.

nope mine was a th350 then my trans doesn't have overdrive. also i might go LS things are looking good for the conversion i can get a 6.0 that came from a ss silverado for 900 and installed with trans roughly around 2.5k he quoted me no more than 3k i just need to buy all the adapters and stuff

well guess this thread needs an update! took the truck to the shop 3 weeks ago to get a a whole new tranny with overdrive and a 2 piece drive shaft for 1200$(im shy 200$ so my parents are going to pitch in the 2 bills )
my truck should of been out today but told me they are timing and carburating (if thats how you call it) my truck which i have absolute no idea why they are tinkering with my motor but i know them personally so i trust them hopefully lol

bad news incoming for my build...I am now officially too broke to buy parts or work on my truck as I no longer work thursdays which was 50% of my income ( i only worked two days, down to one now which is 50$ a week) ,

my dad can no longer help me or paint my truck that i had already sanded down to bare metal on some spots as he lost his job and started working night shifts on the new one on the bright side though bought this tailgate band fro 40$ of a friend, seems pretty good just minor dings and dirty!

Good looking truck and a good start. Sorry to hear about your truck troubles, but look in the bright side. You could be paying on car note and the transmission shot.

I tried to shine up the tailgate band a little so I scrubbed some vinegar on it and came out pretty good that was just one pass..I also decided to do the headlight relay mod with a friend and the budget went WAY overpriced but oh well now I don't have to squint when driving at night or morning to school!

That is a nice truck. I would not worry so much about the lack of money deal. A lot of people are on strict budgets. I have been working on mine for about 2 years and just recently got the engine going again. I really like the the headlight mod. What did you do and what did it take to get the headlights like that?

all you need is a 2 30 amp bosch style relay and 2 20 amp fuses tap into the battery for the 12 volt source, used the original trigger wires and ground..i can write up a in depth explanation or link you to one of the many links in here but they confused me for some reason or just look up "headlight relay mod"

Drop looks good! Be sure to treat that bare metal hood before you do any paint work. Hate to see it come back on ya. Sorry about the trans, you'll dig the overdrive.

Yea for now i just sanded it and primered it but things didnt go as planned painting wise lol and yes, I really digg the overdrive noticed the differance! But i had my truck going 70 at full throttle?? Lol

I will tell you this from personal experience and having my truck primered for so long I know you've done all the work with sanding it. BUT do put some paint on it as long as it rains that primer will just absorb the water and it will end up going to bare metal eventually.

Um....that's odd you should be able to cruise higher than that I mean when I brought my truck home, I was about halfway down and I was going fine at about 65. But I'm trying to think what could cause that problem.

Thanks I figured it out. My dad bought the relay kit from LMC for his truck and ordered the wrong one. His is the 4 light system and mine is the 2 system. He gave me his and I gave him an old hood. The harness hooked right in.

anyone know what might be causing this its been like that for a LONG time i sometimes clean it up and tried tightening the bolt but still leaks and also whats that hole right next to puddle?
