How to properly install '63-64 rear axle wheel seals?

Can anyone share some insight on the proper way to install these not-so-common rear axle seals found on '63-64 C10s?

These are fully encased in rubber, unlike the more common '65-up types which have the actual inner rubber seal bonded to the otherwise steel frame. I had actually tried to install the later type in my '64 housing but the later seal was actually too big (approx. .050").

So do I just lube these seals up with a little oil and push em flush into the housing?
