bbc fan shroud/rad question

I have a very nice 3 core rad I would like too use for my build that has a bbc with a lwp setup thats mounted in the forward(v8) holes in the frame with all the correct mounts. I dont have any shrouds here that will fit so my real question is .....

1.will a bbc fan shroud fit on a 3 core rad? my rad is 27" at the mount saddles(measured on the outside of where the hold downs sit)

2. if they dont fit a 3 core and i got the correct 4 core rad and shroud set up will i still have clearance issues because of my lwp set up?

3. are the bbc clutch fans 18" like the sb fans? (I have a crap load of 19" clutch fans and would love to be able too use one)

has anybody used a lwp setup with the factory shroud and fan?

Re: bbc fan shroud/rad question

i have never had an issue with a shroud fitting but you do have to put it in there befor you put the fan on then you can slide the shroud forward and secure it

Re: bbc fan shroud/rad question

I have a '74 454 in my '67 and it has a clutch operated 19 inch fan. The fan shroud we used is one we had laying around in the garage and we really do not know what it came off of. The shroud may have come out of the '74 C-20 we got the engine out of because it does not look like a small block shroud.

The fan shroud has a round raised portion at the radiator and I had to build a mounting plate to go between the radiatior and shroud.
