Power Steering interchange question
Does anyone know, will the power steering box and arm from the 73-up C-10 2-wheel drive pickup fit on the 67-72 C-10 2wd pickup?
Also, will the brake booster and master cylinder from anything else fit on the 69 C-10 2wd? I thought I saw a recent thread on the power steering interchange. |

73 up Brake booster wont work... master cylinder probably would, but 71-72 style is the same going up.. older ones used a different type master.
Power steering boxes interchange up till they went to metric hoses and you could swap them in too if you had the right hoses. Your good up till 1980 I figure easily. So dont think the stuff is too hard to find. Lots of those years still around for parts.

I agree with him. The power steering pump should work as long as it is a saginaw style. Just check the bracket onthe new and old if you are unsure. You can get a new mstercylinder and booster combo from the parts store for 150 bucks. It is worth it if you are going to open the system.

THANKS!
My big question about the power steering was whether the gear box (and arm) from the later model would bolt in place of my manual box on my 69.
On the brakes, if I get the master cylinder and booster from the parts store, don't I still need the mounting brackets and brake pedal-to-booster push rod for the power brake set-up? |

If you dont have corret lenght mounting brackets for the booster, then yep, your gonna need the brackets.. and the arm that connects to the brake pedal.
The 73 up brackets are not going to work for the correct booster, and I have seen the arm used but it was cut and welded.
