carpet installation

I am installing LMC carpet in my 72 chevy c20 pickup and I was wanting some advice. I have already layed down the the sound proofing. I was wondering if you then dry fit it make the cuts for the bright dim switch on floor board, gas tank line, and seat holes. Then I was wondering if you glue it down so it lays nice and flat or if you just can lay it down with out glueing it. And if so how does it stay up against your cab down by your feet.

has anyone layed this carpet if so please help. Thanks a lot.
