I was think of buying the new Retrosound model 2 stereo. Just wanted any reviews, I've heard this company has good stock looking stereos.

Re: Anybody have the Retrosound model 2 stereo
I bought and installed one three months ago. I pulled it out yesterday to send it back for repairs. I hope it was a fluke, because it sure was nice when it worked properly.

Re: Anybody have the Retrosound model 2 stereo
I wasn't too happy with my Retrosound. I just ended up cutting the dash - I am a lot happier and I have a much nicer system now.

Re: Anybody have the Retrosound model 2 stereo
I have the model one in mine. Basically the same I think. The way it goes into the hole is kinda weird, but it works, and is pretty easy to do.
It sounds awesome, but I have everything running through a nice 4channel Alpine amp. Without the amp, the quality and volume were... lacking. But its nice to not have to cut anything. Definitely get a good amp though, and good quality cables.

Re: Anybody have the Retrosound model 2 stereo
The stereo looked liked it worked, but when the volume was on 50 (the loudest setting on the volume), I can bearly hear anything. I am seriously considering cutting the dash, but I will give the company a chance to fix the issue.

Re: Anybody have the Retrosound model 2 stereo
Just gotta get a decent amp. Otherwise, yeah it sucks. Especially with these metal can trucks.
I never need to go past 40, even on the freeway, and it pounds. You just cant expect this kinda headunit to put out much power
