Serpentine big block belt kit

With a twist, I've been searching and cannot find quite what I would like. I'm gonna be doing a big block swap into my flatbed (hopefully) this summer. I DO NOT like the electric fan set-up as I've had problems in the past with overheating. That being said, SHORT water pump serpentine, that keeps the alt and ac on there respective sides in the compartment. Anybody done this? custom? made it yourself?

Just a curious question about your issue with electric fans. When you have run them in the past have you put on a adjustable temp relay switch?? I have been running them for several years on everything from a small 305 to 454 and even in the new 6.0 swap we did in an impala recently. always dependable, and reduces drag on motor. The switch usually runs between $25-$60 depending where and what brand.

Re: Serpentine big block belt kit

both March and Billet Specialties only make serpentine systems for long pumps that are a conversion kit. Most are going to be v-belt.

Re: Serpentine big block belt kit

I've run the adjustable switch, it just wouldn't cool the big block in my tow truck, fans were running constantly trying to keep up. Regardless, looks like I can use some of the March stuff and fabricate my own Alt and AC brackets to tuck them in. Couple of companies make a reverse rotation water pump, I may start from there.

Re: Serpentine big block belt kit

I got a factory style GM Perf. at Summit Racing, it included everything ( water pump, alt., power steering pump, ac comp., and all brackets). I don't have the truck on the road yet, so I can't give any feedback. It is a serpentine.
