53 Chevy truck

Hey everyone, I'm new to this thread. Well at least posting. I am just starting to restore my 53 Chevy truck. It is all original for now. I have access to a 84 monte Carlo for a donor car and am wondering if this would be a good car to get the front clip and rear end out if? Thanks

Re: 53 Chevy truck

My truck uses a Monte Carlo (G-body) clip in the front and rear. The frame was already done when I bought my truck. I later did a body off restoration/modification and then changed it over to air bag suspension. From everything that I have read/seen/experienced I think that it makes for a good set up but everyone has their preferences.

Good luck
Marc

Darty1987, Yes as Marc said they work great. My panel sets on a lengthened malibu wagon chassis. No wheel spacers like when you use a S10.

Re: 53 Chevy truck

I was planning on using the original frame and boxing it in and just putting the front clip on and the rear end. Thanks for the input. I will be getting the donor and taking my time on doing everything.
