That's it I'm done

I'm going to buy new upper and lower control arms, it's just now worth it. These things are a PITA to just get one free and I still have 3 more. Just wish I knew this before I bought new ball joints and bushings

oh well who do you use for new control arms?

Re: That's it I'm done

If you want completely new, I would suggest DJM/Calmax for a static drop.

http://djmsuspension.com/application...letgmc/c-kits/

If you want nice used ones....now that I am done with school for a little bit and it is warmer I have some dropped a-arms on my 82 k5 2wd Blazer that I will be removing. Don't know your time frame though.

Yup. They're bastards. When I rebuilt my 87's suspension I just got them from Oreilly.

Take them to a spring shop or somewhere to have them taken out and pressed back in.

Re: That's it I'm done

The factory control arms are better quality than aftermarket replacements. To me that makes it worth the effort.

Re: That's it I'm done

Four new AC Delco arms from Rocksuto are about 800 dollars plus shipping.

You can buy all new ball joints and bushings plus this bad boy and rebuild the original arms. When you're finished you'll still be in the job cheaper than buying new ones and you'll be left with a killer tool to use in the future.

Re: That's it I'm done

Ya doing it wrong!! First, using a hack saw, cut off the big round part of the rubber bushing. Once it's off, use a drill bit and drill through it. Drill enough out until you can pry it with pliers. I did this when I replaced my truck's bushings. Worked great. I took new polygraphite bushings, rods, and a-arms to a local alignment shop. The shop pressed new bushings in for $10 each.

Re: That's it I'm done

Go with OEM. I always try these:

oehq.com
owarehouse.com
autopartstomorrow.com
gmpartsdirect.com

Plus search Amazon and Ebay.

Get the correct GM part numbers from Rock Auto first.

Re: That's it I'm done

Your truck is bagged, so why not just go with some porterbuilt forward arms or something similar?
