Static Drop Question

Hey guys I have been working on my LWB stepside and I want to lower it. I planned on getting 3 inch lowered coils in the front and 2 inch lowering blocks in the back. Is there anything else that I would need to buy?
Thanks

Re: Static Drop Question

That's all you need to lower it, but beware that the 3 inch springs will give a pretty harsh ride. post some pics once your done.

Re: Static Drop Question

Just a note - that combination will give you a pretty drastic rake, which is cool, if that's what you are after.

Most go 1" more in the rear to level out the truck.

And those 3" drop front coils will be very stiff- as noted above.

Re: Static Drop Question

Thanks for your comments guys, I was looking at the setup a little more and I think I have decided on 3 inch lowered coils all around and then the lowered gas shocks that go with the rear. Do you guys know of any issues with this setup?

yea 3 inch coils should be fine a better choice albeit a more costly one would be coils and spindles

Re: Static Drop Question

I would go spindles up front and 4" coils in the back. Stock Monroe shocks up front and drop shocks out back. You will get the best ride that way. Bags in the rear would be a better ride tho.

Not wanting/trying to hijack the thread but I have 2.5 inch drops up front with new stock springs. Can I get level by going with the 4" drops in the back with drop shocks and relocators?

Re: Static Drop Question

What king of real world changes do these drops make to actual carrying capacity on these trucks?

I love the idea and look of a lowered truck but will use it for towing my teardrop trailer and sometimes lugging loads.

If you still want to be able to haul anything substantial I'd suggest bags in the rear.
