A little trick to help keep your girl on board with truck expenses

While there's no perfect science to this, and a woman can rear her ugly head at any time with truck expenses, I've found this helps:

On your way back from breakfast, unexpectedly stop in front of her favorite store, hand her your debit card, and tell her to take her time, and that you and the dog will be in the parking lot, surfing the forum from your smartphone (I was anyway, he was impatiently waiting for her to return so his ride in the wind could resume)

The dog says "seriously, when is she coming out? Oh, wait. Is that her???"

Lol. Yes, I might add that she's good that way. She actually came out empty handed, because she couldn't find anything. If she were different, I'd have already gone to the ATM ahead of time and handed her cash

LOL. No kidding! Depending on the woman involved, this thread could easily have been titled "How to triple the costs of your truck expenses!"

That wouldn't work for me... she makes a lot more than I do, so she'd laugh at what's in my account

I just remind my wife that she has a free place to live and free food, plus she gets me too.

And why isn't SHE making you breakfast?

Re: A little trick to help keep your girl on board with truck expenses

I figured out a better way! I started pretending to be interested in my wife's hobby, coin collecting, about ten years ago my wife was taking care of an elderly guy, she would go over on the weekend and clean his house. She was volunteering and wouldn't accept payment from him so he started giving her some old coins each time, getting her started on her own collection. He gave her about fifty uncirculated silver $10 dollar coins and a bunch of other pure silver coins. Mixed in were some old coins that she thought were tokens and worthless, as she went through them a few weeks ago she decided to organize her collection, fitting the coins in specially designed books that had no place for the "tokens" so she was going to throw them away. I took a look at them and realized they were solid gold $10 coins and asked her if I could have them, she said sure! I took two of them to a coin dealer and walked out $3000 richer! I showed her the cash and explained where I got it and she looked like she was about to faint, I asked her what was wrong and she told me she threw away a bunch of those "tokens" a year ago! Oh well, I still have a few left, I gave her $1000 of the cash just to be a nice guy. Anyway I have some extra cash to buy parts with.

It happens to me every once in awhile, unfortunately it seems like each time I come into some extra money something will happen to suck much of the extra cash out of my wallet, this time it was motor in my Unisaw, it bunt up and cost $500 to replace. No biggie, just a few minûtes ago I was telling my wife that I told you guys about her (my) gold coins and she says "look what I found this morning" as she shows me another ounce of gold she found in the bottom of the box she had her coins in. I love coin collecting now!

Re: A little trick to help keep your girl on board with truck expenses

I bought my 67, asked her opinion on several things, did what I wanted, let her name it (Jolly Roger), and got personalized plates. For the truck not my wife..........I know what you were thinking. Then told her the whole time that I couldnt wait until it was finished so I could take her out to eat in it. Worked for me so far.
