WTB C20 LWB frame
I need a C20 long wheelbase frame, preferably for a coil spring rear. I found out mine was rotten yesterday. I guess I knew it was sort of rotten, but didn't think it was that bad.
Would consider rolling chassis (with front/rear suspensions) and 4wd stuff, too. Needs to be 3/4 ton, though. Going to be pulling a horse trailer with it. 1/2 could do it, but I prefer a little more beef.

Re: WTB C20 LWB frame
Brett, thanks for the reply. I'll certainly keep you in mind if I can't work something else out.
Terry, can I see some pics of the chassis, particularly around the hump over the rear axle where it's double plated? Is it a roller or just a bare chassis? Jackson is a bit of a haul, but if I can't find something closer, I'm certainly interested. Free certainly is an attractive price if it's a good frame. Thanks for the replies, fellas.

Re: WTB C20 LWB frame
Yeah, but a trip through the UP in the fall is worth it. Went to college up in Houghton. I love it up there.

Re: WTB C20 LWB frame
Are you going to be around this weekend, Terry? These leads I have around here seem to be falling apart. I've got a couple more to follow up on, so I'll let you know how things turn out. If I can't find anything else by the weekend, though, I'd like to make a trip over to MI on Saturday to get it, if that works for you. You wouldn't still have the springs, rear end, etc. for that chassis, would you?

Re: WTB C20 LWB frame
Its a bare frame. I bought it about four years ago to repair a truck but never used it. I will be gone tonight after five. You can call me tomorrow during the day at 734-216-7899.

Re: WTB C20 LWB frame
If your interested I have a '72 3/4 ton rolling chasis with leaf springs and the driveshaft is still there. Good shape, but I have a cab on it right now just for storage reasons (not bolted on). I would like to get $500.00 for it. It is on the south east side of Chicago in Hammond, In. Thanks.

Re: WTB C20 LWB frame
Still working on a few leads that are more local. The cold, wind, and snow have hampered this a bit as these local leads are in salvage yards and the frames need to be dug out from under trucks for inspection and whatnot.
Sorry for the delays in getting back to you all. I appreciated the feedback, though, and will post up the info on this thread when I find out more about these local ones. Apparently there are potentially 3 frames in two yards a couple of hours from my house. I'm going to try like mad to get some more solid info on them today. Thanks again. I'll keep this updated when I get more info.

Re: WTB C20 LWB frame
I got a rolling chassis and a better bed today from a yard up in Trego, WI. Actually it's going to be delivered early next week once they get the two donor trucks pulled out, as they are buried behind bunches of other cars at this point (plus the snow). The delivery thing was key, as well, as I am currently truckless, and would have had to borrow my Dad's truck (45 miles away) plus a trailer from a buddy at work (45 miles away, as well, in the opposite direction), plus get to the yard to get the goods, which is 90 miles away in a different direction. Would've racked up LOTS of miles, most of which had an empty truck and trailer.
Anyway, I'm paying $1000 for the roller and bed, including delivery. It'll be worth it to me IF the guy delivers the stuff early next week, due to the time constraints I have with this project. Thanks to all who offered frames. Hopefully you can all find takers for the ones you offered. Based on the prices I was getting around here, they appear to be going for between $400-600 for a rolling chassis and between $300-500 for a bare one. Terry, your offer of the free chassis was great!. Unfortunately, the distance that I needed to travel, plus the need to get a different rear axle (or modify mine) plus different rear suspension, would have boosted the cost up. Like I said above, that frame is probably worth $300-500 around here in the rust belt, so that makes your offer even more generous. Just wanted to make sure you knew I appreciated it, but just couldn't make it work out for me. Thanks again, All. I suppose there's some possiblity this deal I'm making falls apart, but it seems I'm well on the way to getting a replacement frame for Old Mustard.
