CPP Tie rod conversion ??

So, Before I take the ball studs out of my steering arms...
CPP says you can put the tie rod ends in their kit in from either the top or the bottom.

Is there an existing taper in the steering arm that matches the supplied tie rod, or is CPP just not mentioning that I'll need a reamer, or what?

Anyone used this kit that can verify fitment / taper or what?

Re: CPP Tie rod conversion ??

I used their tie rod and ends on my 56. I mounted mine underneath because it's lowered 6 inches and the taper fits perfect. Is your lowered or stock height?

Re: CPP Tie rod conversion ??

I used tie rod ends for a 1975 Jeep. They are a straight shaft so no taper needed. I think they are F*** / Napa part # 920535 & 921317
Chech it out

Re: CPP Tie rod conversion ??

Mine is stock height. I wouldn't mind flipping the tie rod under - makes little difference in my case.

SIGH.

Came up for air and realized that the ball studs are press in / straight shank, and that the CPP parts almost certainly will be as well. No taper. I'd never heard of / seen such a thing as a no-taper tie rod end, but that has to be what it is. Guess I'm Captain Obvious today...

that could be a good thing if you end up reaming them.
