How low without dropmember?
Hey guys I have a 91 Suburban that is bagged with spindles up front and it lays control arms right now on 15s. I am wanting to find out how low I can go without a dropmember. I plan to run 22s and any pics or info would be appreciated

About this low,...
There are several bagged 73-87 threads in the 73-87 section. Or look around in the Projects and Builds section.

Re: How low without dropmember?
You could section a stock cross member 1.5 inches.
Just start with a junk yard core so your not under a time crunch. My cousins friend gave me one to do for him, and I got it done in less then 3 hours. Then it swap it in about 8 hours, or less then 4 if you rebuild the A-arms from a junk yard core. Provided you assemble it before hand. |

Re: How low without dropmember?
The front cross member hangs down lower then the frame so laying control arms is as low as you can go with out a dropmember or sectioning the crossmember or zing the front half of the frame.

Re: How low without dropmember?
Im not too familiar with square bodies but on 67-72s with a wheel that tall the tire will hit the inner fender well before the cross member hits the ground. I have 255-40-20s(fairly tall tire) and when the tire hits the inner fender well(trimmed inner fender), the cross member is still 2 inches from the ground.

Re: How low without dropmember?
The dropmember is pricey but worth it,It centers the wheels in the wheel wells and has rack and pinion.

Re: How low without dropmember?
Take a look at my build, I think I have done absolutely everything short of a dropmember on my 81. Sectioned crossmember, cupped lower control arms, 3" drop spindles. The whole shabang!
