Th350 stock crossmember picture

Need to see some pictures of stock 81-84 c10 trans crossmemeber (th350). Previous owned had powerglide and since i put th350 in it there is no space for transmission mount, so i think he might of flipped crossmemeber over. Tried looking for some pix on google but nothing came up except aftermarket crossmemebers.

Thanx

Re: Th350 stock crossmember picture

Thanx. Mine crossmember seems to be off 79 model with one wing on passenger side and flat part on driver side. Th350 I swapped in out of 72 truck, so should I replace my crossmembers to 72 or can I make my 79 work.

PS 1984 c10 350/th350 2wd shortbed.

Re: Th350 stock crossmember picture

I am not sure what the 79 crossmember looks like but these trucks came out with a 350 trans in alot of these trucks. I would think it would bolt right in. I am sure someone will chime in and give the correct info. Can you put up any photos of what you have?

Re: Th350 stock crossmember picture

76 and newer should have the single exhaust transmission crossmember. The passenger side will key into the frame just like earlier ones, but the driver side wraps around the outside of the frame. I will see if one of my parts trucks have the crossmember to get a pic. I sell a bunch of the 73-75 AT crossmembers for the guys that want to upgrade their 76+ trucks to dual exhaust.

Re: Th350 stock crossmember picture

I am 100 positive I have single exhaust member you are talking about. Can it still be used with 72 trans or do i have to swap? Trans tail laying right on crossmember and it seems to be too tight to slide trans mount it, but I might be wrong. Should I unbolt crossmember and trying bolting trans mount in or will it be out of wack anyways lol. Any input would be helpful.

Re: Th350 stock crossmember picture

The 73-75 AT crossmembers have a different profile then the 67-72 as I have put them side by side to compare. The 76 up or the 73-75 AT crossmember will solve your problem with any year TH350. Who knows what year crossmember is in there now as the powerglide was common in the pre 67 trucks.

Here's pics of the AT single exhaust crossmember in a 78. I need to check my barn to see if I have a loose one. Your 84 should already have the holes for this crossmember.

Re: Th350 stock crossmember picture

This truck has a TH400, but this crossmember also works with TH350. Your 72 trans should work fine and you should be able to lift it a bit without removing from the engine. What year transmission mount are you trying to use?

72. Should I try later year? I haven't put one on yet, since a seemed a bit tight, but i think it might work once i try to lift it up. Guy before me had powerglide just laying there on crossmember not bolted up,just loose. found out about it when doing my engine and trans swap 2 weeks ago lol.

Ask for a mount for an 84 with a TH350. Or fudge the year to 81 if that doesn't work.
