4X4 Engine Crossmember Upgrade

EDIT: I HAVE ANOTHER ONE AVAILABLE AS OF JULY 6th! Now that you have upgraded your front end with a sway bar, its time to upgrade your engine mounts so you don't snap the motor mounts when you go 4 wheeling. This one has the more reliable clam shell setup. You will need to get new rubber and some grade 8 bolts.
$50 plus shipping for the crossmember and motor towers. Shipping should be under $30.
$20 for a pair of clam shells if you need them.
Post office money order or paypal (you cover fees)
Thanks,
Ray

Re: 4X4 Engine Crossmember Upgrade

That is very interesting. Does it place the engine in the same stock location? Do you have any pics of one installed? thanks for good info...frank

Re: 4X4 Engine Crossmember Upgrade

I don't have any pics, but I saw it on a truck a couple of years ago. I know the crossmember lengths are the same and I will need to check to see if any mods are needed for the towers.

Re: 4X4 Engine Crossmember Upgrade

It looks like the engine towers have to be shaved down a bit to fit 67-72 frames. It does not look like it would be a tough mod. The crossmember was originally riveted to the frame and the towers were bolted. Most of the time the rivets are replaced with grade 8 bolts.
