need new radiator
i need a new radiator for my 1972 gmc truck, has anyone heard about a spectra premium radiator? i can get one new for less than 200.00 dollars plus a lifetime warranty at my local auto zone. any ideas or suggestions???

Im running a champion alum radiator I got for less than $200 from ebay....im happy with it

I have no problems with buying a radiator from a local DIY store that has a lifetime warranty. That way if there is ever a problem you can return it and your going again the same day. With any luck it will be a copper/brass and look just like to stock one.

I just got my original radiator cleaned, pressure tested, and had a leak repaired for $80 this week. Only took them a day to get it back to me. Could be an option for you, though radiator repair shops are getting harder to find.

stick with copper, it works better, yes its bigger but copper disapates heat better. Its only bigger because of the limiting factor of the wall thickness of copper.
Good copper 4 core from any auto parts store plus were talking trucks with room, not a FWD rice burner that has no other option but to use aluminum. big 3 switch to it was only for space and money savings, not because it was the best. |

I replaced mine in my 68 C20 with a Spectra Premium from AutoZone in Pheonix Az. Almost exact duplicate of the original 4 core radiator that was in it. If I'd had the original fan shroud it would have worked perfect. I had to redrill some holes to mount my aluminum electric fan shroud to mount them. Otherwise very happy with the quality and fit of the radiator. Recommended.
