Detent Cable

I think I may be leaking from the connection of the detent cable to the trans.

Can I simply unscrew the screw holding in the bracket (at the trans) and pull the cable and bracket out (and bracket off) just far enough so I can replace the o-ring? Anybody know what size o-ring?

I won't be able to see it, so I'll have to do it by "feel". And I *absolutely* don't know how it connects inside the trans case.

Thanks.

Yeah. Sorry. Looks like my "edit" didn't make it in...It's a TH350. I don't know what brand the cable is.

Re: Detent Cable

The cable should have an eyelet on that end once you remove the bolt and pull up you will need to disconnect the offset formed rod from the trans. Then replace the O ring or whole cable assembly. I have done a couple but it has been quite some time ago. Here is a pic I found that may help.
