Re: Caught my Truck on fire today....

I caught the carpet on fire in a 66 GTO I used to own through the floor shifter cable by doing fishtails and sliding the pos battery terminal onto the adjacent fender. I'd post a WTB for the harness you need on the parts board - decent OEM ones aren't too hard to scare up. Good luck. Pete

Re: Caught my Truck on fire today....

Did the fusible links not go first? Or were they wrapped up with the rest of the harness and caused collateral damage?

Re: Caught my Truck on fire today....

That really sucks, but you should be able to find one at a salvage yard.

Re: Caught my Truck on fire today....

when i was 17 the ground wire came out of my sub amp in my monte carlo while I was driving and the pos wire caught fire, by the time I got pulled over the back seat and headliner was on fire.....headliner, backseat, rear plastic were all melted and the back window blew out. thankfully some guy came out of nowhere with a fire extinguisher and put it out......I was driving past a paper mill and was thinking to myself man that stinks today and looked in the rearview and saw all the smoke comming thru the 6x9 grill holes in the rear deck......if I would of had my radio turned up I would of heard the subs stop. It could of been worse but you'll be back on the road in no time.

When you redo your wiring, keep the fusible links away from the rest of the harness - definitely don't wrap them up.
