Question Issues with my Starter

Hi, I'm New at the classic truck deal and need your help with my starter.

I have a 1966 truck with a 327 Engine with and 700r4 transmission.
Do I need to look for a starter for the engine?
or a starter that will fit the tranny?

Please help.

Re: Issues with my Starter

Both, but the trans is the driving issue. Go to a real parts store, tell the guy you have a small block attached to a 700r4. He'll be able to get you the right thing.
