14bsf to 14bff swap?

Hello

I wondering how hard would it be to swap a 14bff into my truck with a 14bsf?

Just make sure you get one out of a 3/4 ton. Then just unbolt brake lines, drive shaft, and U bolts. It's that easy.

I already have one under a srw 1-ton. It looks like everything other then the shock mounts are the same?

Re: 14bsf to 14bff swap?

What I was hoping was that I could unbolt the leaf springs and brake lines. And move the unit over and bolt it back in my truck. As I said the shock mounts are different. For this I was thinking of drilling out the rivets on the upper mounts of the 1-ton, and bolting them on my frame?

Re: 14bsf to 14bff swap?

The oneton springs are longer and the spring hangers sit closer to the frame as well.It would be easier if you do like ghetto suggested & just swap axle...Removing the spring hangers is a bit more work.

If you want to use the one in the 1 ton than you will need to remove the spring hangers and transfer them over or grind the welds off of the spring pads and weld them in the correct spot.

Just move the axle pads and shock brackets.
