Installing mirror on roof in '72 cab??

So the mirror keeps falling off my new truck... and I hate window mounted mirrors anyway... can I simply drill the cab roof and install a 67-71 mirror, or is there a reinforcement plate or some such in the older cabs?

Yep, that's the idea. My '69 has that mirror. Just wasn't sure (having never removed it) if there is a mounting plate or reinforcement in the roof that they didn't put into the '72 cabs that came with the mirror glued to the glass
