Long starts?

When my engine is cold, (5.7L TBI) it takes about 3 seconds to start. That becomes about 2 seconds once its warm and I've driven into town or something. Is this normal? I've heard other people complaining about hard starts and I wonder if I fall in that category. It always starts, it just seems like it takes longer than it should.
