Finally Got To Run The Bucket At The Track With The Nitrous

got to run the bucket last tuesday night at our grudge night here in indy. with the powershot nitrous i improved from a 13.86 at 94 mph to a 12.81 at 104 mph. got my rpm activated window switch set up for 3000 and 6000 for protection. my best 60 ft time was a 2.02 and my best reaction time was .002. surprised alot of spectators who did not think the truck would go faster than 14's. you guys should have seen the looks on their faces as i drove back from picking up my time slips. i wish i had a camera.

MITCH1914, sounds like it's running good. What was your 1/8 mile time and mph? What size nitrous shot are you running?

engine mods

400 sb 30 over, 9.75 to 1 hyperutectic pistons, 350 heads modified to go on a 400. the heads have also been pocket ported, 3 angle valve job, they still have the stock valves. i have a comp cams 270 magnum with 1.6 roller tip rockers, flowtech headers, edelbrock perfromer intake, a used 600 vac secondary holley that the old man modified and jetted up (i dont know what he did to it but it works very good). msd6a ignition. the block was decked and the heads milled a little to make them level. tranny is a 400 turbo with 2200 stall the rearend is posi via the the powertrax system, i have 373 gears

STROKER 383 1/8 times werer in the 7.80 range ( i dont have the time slip in front of me now) it felt like the truck ran out top very strong. how does yours run from 2nd gear on out on the bottle
and what gears do you run.

MITCH1914, I have 3.73 gear. It pulls hard in every gear. I run 28x9" Hoosier Slicks, My best 60ft was 1.77. Does your truck spin much off the line?

388Stroker Doesn't spin hardly at all....I soft pedal it the first 10 feet and then mat it after that....I wait for the rpm window switch to take over. The reason why I ask if it pulls hard up top is coz I noticed that the truck running hard and fast in second and drive...Maybe I was just so excited I did not notice the bottom end power. But it is there coz the truck is coming out very quick. Mitch1914

If it doesn't spin much you could try a adjustable MSD rpm chip to turn the nitrous on sooner. That might help your 60ft times. I have mine coming on at 2500rpm.
