TBI rebuild

is there any one around that rebuilds or offers a rebuilt TBI unit for 350 chevy? thanx

Seems like I've seen them, but really there's not much to them and there's not much to rebuild. The TBI unit itself is a group of components that are generally serviced separately. If the fuel injectors squirt, the IAC motor moves, the TPS sensor puts out a smooth signal, and the diaphragm in the fuel pressure regulator isn't torn that's all there is. The throttle shaft bores do wear out just like a carb, but just like a carb bronze inserts can be put in to tighten things back up. The "rebuilt" unit's I've seen generally don't come with a TPS, and are pretty much just washed and assembled with all the original parts aside from new gaskets.

What's going on that you want to get a rebuilt unit?

i believe its seeping fuel out the side shaft but wasnt sure if the bushings need to be pressed in. kits are avail. for 30.00. they look simple to redo but the bushing part steered me away if they are pressed in

I got a rebuilt and bored to 850 cfm throttle body off ebay a while back for my 454. The ebay seller is extreme-fi. Id highly reccomend the bored ones, maybe not 850cfm for a small block, but it sure woke up my 454. Very high quality. Job done on the tbi unit.

TBI rebuild is easy. First time may take you a bit, especially getting the diaphragm in, but after that you'll be a pro. Just don't overlook the tiny filters.

There are a few online companies that will rebuild the injectors, usually about $20 each plus shipping. Or, you can buy rebuild injectors at O'Reilly for about $80 each.
