In the Market...
So I have been looking for a Burb or a Jimmy lately.
I have a nice C10, that is just not quite big enough for the family on extended travels. So I put it on Craigslist. Plus, I have always wanted to try some off roading... I have been looking at some Burbans, being tempted by "pre smog". Here is CA I'm amazed at how many guys drop money on their rigs, jacking them up, putting in expensive stereos but don't take care of the emissions. It's not legal to sell a vehicle here without smog! So I feel like a Suburban is overkill, and won't be great offroad, (big, long, heavy) but great for family camping, and a Blazer might be too small. Plus that rear seat does not seem like a safe place for my 4 year old. Yeah I love the convertibles, but does a roll cage work for a kid in the back? Burban or Blazer? Just for fun this is what I plan on giving up. It's been a great truck, and it's really nice! Almost too nice to beat on! My buddy took this at sunrise in Death Valley last month: </tr Last edited by swissarmychainsaw; 03-31-2013 at 12:29 PM. |

Re: In the Market...
Get a burb. The fuel mileage will be about the same as a K5, with all the extra room. Not dissing the K5, but cargo room is almost nonexistent in them.
Mine has a 4" lift on 35's and I've been in mud up to the front bumper, stopped pushing it when it piled up so high it started coming up onto the hood, then backed my way out. They are heavy, no doubt. You won't be able to play follow the leader with a rigged out jeep, but it should go anywhere you'd want to take the family. As for the smog stuff, no advice there. Mine has all been removed, and it passes at the local shade tree station. it shouldn't, but does anyway
