shopping cart ideas

anybody have any modifiyed shopping carts in their shop?
I had picked up one alongside the road on the way back to town the other nite.
its strange cause there isnt a shopping center anywhere near where it was.
so anyway i figured w.t.h chuck it in the truck.
now i've been stareing at this thing wandering what too do with it.
I've been thinking either a engine run in stand or just a engine storage stand.
so i'm looking for ideas ..... what did/would you do with a shopping cart?

Re: shopping cart ideas

@ we have 2 older sturdy carts one is use to place small parts in as they are checked in. Then put away. The other is cut down to almost flat.
And used to move tranny's and other large items around.

Looking forward to more reply's

Welder cart!

I have been looking for one that is slightly damaged so I won't feel bad about cutting it up.

Re: shopping cart ideas

I think the only time I ever used a shopping cart for any "illegal" application was when someone tried to set us up as if we stole one from the local grocery store. It bombed on whoever it was that abandoned the cart in our backyard, because the entire chain--Alpha Beta--had shut down and no one cared about the cart. Unfortunately, it would only hold up a 2.6L 4-cylinder until tipping over. On my toe. Thank you, God, for making steel-toed shoes. I threw the tranny on the bottom rack for counter-balance and it lifted off my toe.

Can anyone tell that was a teenage adventure in some real nowhere town that the world forgot?

never gave it a thought of being "illegal" too have a shopping cart maybe i should spray it up with camo paint so nobody can see it

I have a nice lil' welder cart that i like cause its compact an works nicely in my garage so that idea is great one but not needed.

currently my woman has been useing it for its intended purpose hauling the groceries from the driveway up the 75ft. walkway into the house

i'm gonna let this thread stew awhile an see if any great ideas pop up

Re: shopping cart ideas

ok guys i've read the thread about "stolen" shoping carts but i feel i didnt steal this one but mearly saved somebody else from hitting it in the middle of the nite.

anyway I've had this thing sitting around for awhile now. the woman used it for a lil' bit and I dang near threw it in the pile a while ago when i took scrap metal up too the yard.
well rite after the scrap run i come across this older generator that runs great in a trade/sell kinda deal.
the fellow had the generator mounted on a wood buggie that he had asked too have back. ok i thought.
it took me a few weeks too get the idea of mateing the two together but it work great and i'm glad i didnt scrap it.

I mounted it on some springs i had layin around. it bounces around when its cold and choked but once warmed up it just vibrates nicely.

anybody else have one they've used for something else besides "shopping"
