Do not have to do emissions test on my 79 in Indiana

I just called the state BMV and verified the state code, and it says as long as your vehicle is at least 25 years old and has one of a couple options met, you can be exempt from emissions. My condition and an easy one to meet. Insure it as a classic vehicle. Have a police verification of the vin and age and your home free. Glad I checked, getting ready to order the exhaust, now I won't have to get cats.

Here in TX I didn't have to meet anything but the age requirement on my 87.

When i bought my k10 i just drove down there titled it ordered plates n drove off love indiana sometimes

Funny thing is the girl I was talking to at the BMV said it did not qualify because it was a 1979 and therefore NOT 25 years old. I love government employees

Hard to believe that in the state of Ct. (The state that luvs to be the first to pass any law that strips you or your buisness of all rights) I have not needed an inspection since 2002 on my '84...Go figure.

Indiana BMV what a joke! You could go in there with a squirrel powered rusted frame with a lawn chair clamped to it, and still walk out with a plate. as long as they dont have to get up off their asses. But God forbid if you have any problem in your paperwork they will not do sh!t for you. I truly loath that place. A few years ago the BMV type a U instead of a V in the VIN# number on a title I had. clearly their mistake as I didn't make the title. It took months to get it fixed, extra money and I think a pardon from the Governor. All of which had to be taken care of by the Main office in Indy. there was nothing the local branch could do. (so they say). When I bought My truck Silver dollar The guy I bought it from signed the title in the wrong place. I took it to the BMV to get it transferred. Holy Christ, You'll d a thought I commited a capitol offence. (Like know one has ever signed in the wrong place) Again, I truly loath that place.
