Dutch guy has problems with brake lines

Because US sizes are considered odd in Europe, 1/4" brake lines are not common, usualy everything is 3/16". what is the real problem when using only 3/16" tubing all around?

Re: Dutch guy has problems with brake lines

As far as i know there is no problem, I used 3/16 all the way around(4 wheel disc) and have no problems.

thats my thought exactly, but in the manual it mentions 1/4" tubing going to the back en 3/16" to the front and I wonder why.

I mean force = pressure x surface space..so the diameter of the tubing should be an issue right? or has it to do with the response time after applying the brake?

Use 3/16 everywhere. Everyone does be it street car, race car or cable car. 3/16 steel brake line is the ticket. :0

Re: Dutch guy has problems with brake lines

Ok, so the diameter of the brake line doesn't matter.

Another question:
will the original brake proportion valve work now I have converted the front to disks? I always thought the split was about 60% front 40% rear?
is there a difference between all drum brakes (without a booster) and a disk front/drum rear (with a booster) setup?
