New to board

I have followed the board for a while. I am working on a 56 3100 big window I was wandering if a s-10 blazer frame is the right width to use the rear axle and front-end for upgrading the original frame.

Re: New to board

Hello yt-1, welcome.

Let me say before someone ELSE does, "The Search Button is your friend"

Seriously, try searching and i THINK you're gonna find that S10 chassis stuff is used more on the AD trucks. You know that AD means the '47.5 thru '55.1 Advanced Design series trucks? You have a Task Force or TF truck; '55.2 thru '59.

Most guys here use Camaro or Chevelle rearends and the front suspension can be upgraded in many ways. From a full refurbishment of the stock straight axale, with or without lowering springs, dropped axles or a combination. OR, you can upgrade to an IFS system using either one of the many aftermarket cross members available: Porterbuilt, Fatman Fabrications, Heidt's, Performance Online, No Limit Engineering, yada, yada, OR you can cut your frame off and weld in the front "clip" from the same Camaro, Firebird, etc - IF you're a qualified welder.

Best of luck.

P.S. It's traditional here to post a photo of your truck and describe your plans for it!

AFAIK, you can't load photos directly from your phone. You've gotta upload them to Photobucket or such, then copy the IMG code and paste that directly into the text box here. Then the photos show up full sized instead of the tiny version.
