Could I just bend my clutch rod straight?
My truck is a 69 c20 with a 307/sm465. The clutch rod that connects the pedal to the z bar is bent pretty good to the point it rubs on my fire wall. Its a v8 push rod but I think it was bent maybe for another truck. Well I was wondering if I could bend it back and be ok. Maybe heat it up first so it bends easier or would that ruin it? Im having trouble finding one so this doesn't seem like a bad idea to me lol.
Thanks in advance. Posted via Mobile Device

Hmmm mine is bent pretty good too. I thought it was rubbing because of the ends being worn and the bushings shot? Maybe I'll try and straighten mine too.

See that's what I'm thinking but I wonder if it hurt to get it red hot first so it bends easy.

Bending it hot would be far better than bending it cold. How about welding on a length of small angle iron to reinforce it?
