Newbie with a '70 CST LWB

Well I've been hanging around the board picking up parts and reading for a few months. I picked up this '70 CST long bed back in January. It appears to be very original with a 350 and automatic. I found it on Craigslist locally. Here is a picture of me and my younger daughter bringing it home. She is 5 and loves it!

I bought it from a guy who had only had it about a year and had purchased it from the original owner. I have the original bill of sale and factory build sheet.

The body is in great shape with no rust, but the previous owner took a rattle can to the interior - he even painted the seat belts! He apparently had a strong dislike of the original saddle interior. I am in the process of painting over the white with black until I can replace it correctly. As for the lipstick red interior, I guess I'll just have to live with it a little longer.

I already did a power brake conversion and am almost complete converting to power steering. I have everything mounted, but my lower column bearing bit the dust when I tried to reconnect the I-shaft. Now I'm struggling trying to get the remains of the old bearing off of the column shaft. Any advice would be great.

This place is full of great information! Thanks for everyone's help.

Welcome from the Southern end of the state.

That's a great find. I assume it's originally a Mississippi truck also.

I have a '71 LWB that was bought new in Batesville, Ms.

Enjoy your new toy!
